<Transmission Begins>
In the multiverse within which I abide, ‘translation complete’ indicates a successful jump through warp. It could be a light year, or a hundred parsecs. The longer the jump the more fucked up you are, while the odds of getting there diminish exponentially.
So lets go sideways and look at time, which, of course, is ‘always in the present’.
I always associate this statement with the late Barry Lategan, discoverer of Twiggy, and one of my mentors over the years. He was wont to quote it as often as he could. However, it was the French philosopher and social theorist, Michel Foucault, who knitted time, history, and memory together into the immediate now.
“Time is always in the present”
So, in my present, translation is complete—for the moment.
Moving from one home to another after 36 years, and keeping the continuity of a much larger continuum than my own problems had been something I’d been dreading, but ‘now’, in the present moment, I find myself comfortably orbiting a totally new planet, and Xanctu feels that much closer.
There are many paths one can travel at the same time, and I just hope I’m on one of them. Of course some writers always try to find magical meanings in the signs surrounding them. I see them, but prefer to think of them as runway lights, except I’m in orbit—go figure.
And while I was in translation, some vital pieces of the never-ending puzzle have quietly fallen into place, so if you got this far you’re down the rabbit hole and it’s safe to divulge that the ‘Chronicles of Xanctu’ trilogy has been greenlit by a soon-to-be-revealed publisher, and the ‘Xelexnia’ series has signed an Executive-Producer, and is well on its way to being an epic TV series. Of course, such giant enterprises move slowly, so I’ll be happy if I live to see it made, but the source code will not die.
The Promise Must Be Kept!
Xanctu
